Michael Walker (Year 4 PhD) joined in 2022, having completed a BSc in Chemistry at Manchester Metropolitan University and Masters at University of Manchester where he investigated the formation of paramagnetic species in photoexcited spin traps.
In his PhD, Michael is exploring spin-photon mechanisms in organic molecular materials - for example how singlet-triplet conversion and chiroptical properties are linked to spin-orbital processes within emitters.
Outside of the lab, Michael enjoys walking, camping and sightseeing.
